Sigma Chapter

Kappa Kappa Gamma is one of the largest Fraternities for women in the nation, with chapters located throughout the United States and Canada. Our Sigma Chapter was one of three all-female Fraternities established at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln back in 1870. However, the Sigma name wasn’t permanently assigned to our chapter until 14 years later on May 19, 1884.

There are 16 Sororities at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, but only 14 of the 16 chapters have a house on Campus. Our iconic white house was built in 1925, 55 years after our original founding. Today the house that is known as the 616 continues to house 60+ Kappa sisters each year.

Kappa encourages three core values; Friendship, Scholarship, and Leadership, which bonds all 140+ chapters throughout the nation together into one. Our Sigma chapter is more than just a house full of girls, we are brought together through endless memories, life-long friendships, and a forever connection to Kappa Kappa Gamma. Shall we always remember to Dream Boldly. Live Fully. Go Kappa!
