Chapter Philanthropy & Service
Here at Theta Psi we pride ourselves on the involvement within our community through various events. For example, the Jenna Strong Kickball tournament is an event we hosted in the fall of 2015 where we raised over $1,500 for Jenna King's Leukemia treatments. In addition, we hold the Annual Mr. Austin Peay Pageant, which benefits the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation. A line in our Purpose states: "To welcome the opportunity of contributing to the world's work in the community where I am placed..." and we hold steadfast to that line here at APSU.
Along with actively participating in other organizations philanthropic endeavors, we enjoy raising money for our international philanthropy, the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation. We enjoy participating in the ADA: Step out for Diabetes Walk in Nashville, where we get to meet sisters from the Belmont chapter and some of our alumnae in the area and are able to help raise awareness for this cause.
We have some exciting news as well! Alpha Gamma Delta has recently changed it's focus towards fighting hunger. We believe that we will be able to make a huge impact within our community through "Hunger at Home". While we love working with the ADA and raising awareness and educating others about Diabetes we are very excited for this new change. We have some amazing events in the works to help raise awareness for our new philanthropic focus, and we look forward to working with other organizations through their philanthropies, as well.
